Ivo Schüssler, born in Sursee 1982, lives and works in Berlin. He studied Fine Arts in Lucerne and Bremen as well as Cognitive Systems and Interactive Media in Barcelona. Schüssler is a critical observer of the technological development and the role of the new media in our society. His artistic work moves within the polarizing field of naturalness and artificiality or actuality and virtuality. He analyzes the nature of the digital image as well as the virtuality of the materiality.
Schüssler has been working as a video artist, among others on the Maxim Gorki Theatre, Berlin. Together with Eno Henze and Ingolf Heinsch he developed the first version of the vvvv-based Interactive Realtime Image Synthesizer (IRIS).
