One of the goals of Motion Bank, a research project initiated by choreographer William Forsythe, is to translate aspects of dance and choreography into digital form. The workshop will give an introduction to the current process and results of working with choreographies by Deborah Hay. Using example patches you will get access to the data that has been collected and produced in the last two years.
‘Solo-Data Commissioning Project’ is based upon the ‘Solo Commissioning Project’ project by Deborah Hay in which she commissions her solos to be learned and adapted by selected dancers. Based on this idea the workshop will give you access to Motion Bank data of one of her solos allowing you to explore, learn, visualize and further develop with it.
