ABB Robots encompass the simple but powerful programming language RAPID which somehow resembles a Processing environment, but is routinely used to reliably move around hundreds of kilos of things with sub-millimeter accuracy in all kind of industrial automation applications.
Sebastian Oschatz and Nikos Mechanezidis of MESO will do some hands on experiments with an IRB120 Robot to make it move and draw. Sebastian will present various examples of how the world of industrial robotics has been successfully connected with the realtime generative world of vvvv and how monitors, lights, grippers and various sensors can be connected to the robot.
Nikos will present a library for controlling the robot with simple TCP commands from vvvv and both will be happy to discuss creative projects ideas utilizing industrial robotics.
